Hired into Seattle Fire Department on March of 1989 – Fired Nov 2021.
I was fortunate to have been able to protect and serve the citizens of Seattle as a firefighter/Officer for 32 and ½ years. I was proud to have been a second-generation Seattle firefighter. My father retired as a Captain after his 30 years of service.
During my career as a firefighter, operations Lieutenant and Captain, I had to make many tough decisions with regards to the life and safety of my crews as well as the citizens I swore to protect and serve. I never anticipated having to make a decision as critical and life altering as when the City of Seattle Covid vaccine mandate was forced upon myself and many others. Vaccinate or get fired!
The choice was not an easy one and one of the hardest in my life. I believe in freedom of choice. I believe we are to care for our bodies as commanded to by Christ. I did not believe the EAU Covid shot was safe or effective. I was not willing to risk my natural immunity to Covid nor my health by taking the Covid mandated shot. Sadly, the end of my career was not as I had planned. I was fired because I was not willing to take the Covid shot!
