Josh Gibbs joined the Seattle Fire Department in January 2006 and served with distinction until his termination in December 2021. As a highly skilled apparatus operator, he spent nearly a decade assigned to Rescue 1, where he served as the primary driver of the truck. His role placed him at the center of some of the department’s most complex and technical rescue responses.

Josh married his wife, Sock Hwa "Valen" Gibbs, in 2003. Together, they are proud parents to two children: Isaiah (born August 2005) and Talia (born February 2008). Josh is known for his steady presence, sharp tactical acumen, and deep commitment to both his crew and his community.

His departure from the department marked the end of a dedicated career in frontline emergency services, but not the end of his commitment to serve and support those around him.
