Brent Mattila

Lieutenant Brent Mattila joined the Seattle Fire Department in February 2012, bringing with him a disciplined work ethic and a deep sense of service shaped by his four years in the U.S. Army as an Arabic linguist. Throughout his fire service career, he was primarily assigned to Station 10 in Pioneer Square, where he served as a Hazmat Technician and demonstrated exceptional leadership in high-risk, high-stakes environments.

Brent’s tenure was marked by both operational excellence and steadfast commitment to his crew. He rose to the rank of Lieutenant, serving with honor until being placed on disability in October 2021. His termination was finalized in December 2022.

Brent is married and the proud father of eight children—seven sons and one daughter. His dedication to both family and public service reflect the values that guided his time in uniform and continue to shape his life beyond the department.
