Ann-Maree Tedaldi, PhD, DPT – Strategic Advisor and Advocate
Ann-Maree Tedaldi was hired by the Seattle Fire Department in 2019 as a Strategic Advisor II. She brought with her over 20 years of experience in Orthopedics and injury mitigation. She holds a doctor of physical therapy and is an orthopedic manual specialist. Additionally, she holds a PhD in Orthopedics and Sports Science.
Dr Tedaldi brought a perspective to the fire department that successfully reduced recruit injuries by greater than 60% and improved attrition rates that were historically 25-30% to less than 5%. She successfully worked with the Rescue company and launched a comprehensive human performance initiative that successfully bridged the gap between resiliency and Thriving.
During her tenure, she demonstrated a deep commitment to her work and the mission of public service, navigating unprecedented challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. March 2020, Dr. Tedaldi was required by the department to work remotely, a role she performed effectively while maintaining her responsibilities and supporting critical departmental functions. Despite her success and value that she brought to the fire service, her employment was ultimately terminated on Good Friday 2022.
As a result of her termination, she had to make the very difficult decision to give up her home and endured a 7-month journey of homelessness with her then 4-year old daughter. Ultimately, She relocated to San Angelo Texas and to this day struggles to bring life back to a career that she loved.
Dr. Tedaldi moved to Seattle, from Fort Worth, TX with her 15-month-old daughter.
